Scripture passage most instrumental in God’s calling me to be a pastor: 2 Timothy 4:1&2
Favorite analogy of the Cross of Christ: a key, when stuck into the earth and turned by God the Son, fired up the vehicle of salvation for all humanity. (Romans 5:6-11)
Favorite analogy of the Triune nature of the Godhead: water being poured from a pitcher into a bowl. The water takes three forms, that of the pitcher, that of a stream flowing through the air, that of the bowl. Same water, three forms. Same God, three persons. (Living Water, John 4:10)
Favorite analogy of the local church: stones tossed in together at the head of a stream, rolling, jostling, bumping, wearing, sometimes chipping and grinding each other downstream till they become precious stones. (1 Peter 2:4&5)
